Simple Blogging How-Tos: Leave a Hyperlink for Your Blog in the Comments Section

January 14, 2015
From new blogger to new blogger (or even experienced blogger), I am always trying to find little things to help me appear as a more professional blogger.

When I first started blogging, I noticed that some people would leave links in my comments section that I would have to copy and paste into my browser (before I started using Google+ for my comments). Others left a hyperlink that I just had to click on and it would take me to my site.
Leaving a hyperlink as oppose to just a link is far more efficient now that most people are using a mobile device to look at websites. People are more likely to click on your website than to spend time copying and pasting on their phones. Also, when you leave a link in someone's comment section and somebody clicks on it, that website gets listed as a Traffic Source.

Here are 2 easy ways to add a hyperlink to a blog's comments section. All that you have to do is replace my website and site name for your website and site name:

1. Leave a hyperlink with the name or nickname of your blog.

For example:

<a href="">Quirky, Brown Love</a>

will show up as:

Quirky, Brown Love

<a href="">Check Out This Website For A Directory of Black-Owned Businesses!</a>

will show up as:

Check Out This Website For A Directory of Black-Owned Businesses!

2. Leave a hyperlink with the link displayed of your blog.

For example:

<a href=""></a>

will show up as:

<a href=""></a>

will show up as

Simple as that! Just copy, paste and change it to your info instead of mine! This method has worked in every comment section I have tried EXCEPT Google+/G+ comment sections (like mine). Because I use G+ for my comment section, when you leave a link to your blog, it is already hyperlinked.

Sometimes when I try to remember this code from the top of my head, I forget to put quotation marks
("  ") around my link and I also forget to put http://www. in from of my website. All of this is important so make sure to copy the code above exactly.

Brown Love Stories: Denise and Jason

January 12, 2015
Hello, everyone! I am so excited to present to you today a lovely couple that I have had the pleasure to get to know: one of my fellow BLM girls, Denise from Mom Talk with Denise LaRosa and her husband, Jason. What a beautiful example of black loveI hope that you enjoy!
1. Names (Hers and His)
Denise and Jason

2. Ages ( Hers and His)
 both 33yrs old

3. Length of relationship

4. How did you two meet?
My best friend, who just so happened to be Jason's God sister, set us up on a blind date at the bowling alley. I hate blind dates, but whenever I saw this good looking guy walk into the bowling alley, I said to myself, "Please let that be Jason! He's fine!"

5. What makes your relationship "quirky" or unique?
We were both in the marching band in high school. I'm from WV and he's from PA, but our bands competed against each other at a competition back in 1996. I remember my mom telling me about this nice lady from PA that she spent the day with at the competition. Come to find out it was Jason's mother! Jason and I didn't even meet until 2005! They couldn't believe their eyes whenever they reconnected through us! Now they share grandbabies. <3
6. What is one quirky habit that you have learned about him?
Whenever Jason wants to learn how to do something - from recipes to web building - he looks up videos on YouTube. I have picked up that habit and it's helped me tremendously with my business!

7. What is one quirky habit that you have learned about her?
Denise's entire day will be thrown off if she doesn't have her coffee! A caffeinated wife means a happy life! Out of all the gifts I've given her, the Keurig was her favorite!

8. Quirkiest moment and/or adventure?
I had just bought a new car. We went to the grocery store and went to put the groceries in my car and noticed a huge dent in the bumper. We were heated! We were grabbing people, asking if they saw who had done it. I called my brother going off about it. Then all of a sudden I looked at the rear view mirror and didn't see my cross. I looked over at Jason and said, "Uh this is not my car boo." LOL
9. What will the back cover or your love story read.
Though the road we've traveled has been full of ups and downs, we travel the journey together.

Don't forget to check out Denise's blog, as well as on Twitter and Facebook!
