Now Listening To: Noname

If you are a fan of futuristic, soulful, alternative rap and are looking for an album that you can listen to without skipping a track, look no further than Noname's album, Telephone.

Fatima Warner, most famously known as Noname and previously Noname Gypsy, is a Chicago based rapper and poet. When listening to her sound, you'll hear music influences from various genres like blues, jazz and spoken word.
Originally appearing on the scene in 2010, the 25 year old gain popularity in 2013 after appearing on the track "Lost" from Chance The Rapper's mixtape, "Acid Rap."

Since then , the artist has released her first mixtape, Telefone, and it couldn't be more perfect. Many music critics are taking the easy way out and are trying to compare Noname's sound to that of Chance The Rapper because of their hometown and association. Keeping Noname in the shadow of Chance doesn't give her the recognition she so respectfully deserve.
Noname's sound is soulful, intelligent and a smack in the face to the American dream. As a lyricist, she tells her truths and the truths of her surroundings. With magical friends in the industry like SZA, Saba and Chance The Rapper, she is bound to blown up the scene, so you might as well become a Noname fan on the come up.
Not necessarily an attribute to her musical talent, but Noname's personality radiate through her performances. Her natural hair, vintage style and huge smile is contagious and impossible not to be attracted to.
