This Is Also Black: Malcolm Stewart, American Professional Supercross Lites Racer

There are so many stereotypes that try to define what it means to be a Black person in America.

One stereotype is that Black people don't participate in sports that are seen as extreme or adventurous. We are often told that risky activities are reserved for people of other ethnicities. Malcolm Stewart, however, did not let this stereotype about Black people stop him from success. The Florida native made his supercross debut in 2011, following in the footsteps of his older brother, James "Bubba" Stewart Jr. who was the 2009 FIM World Supercross Champion.

These two brothers had a father that was a motorcross enthusiast who introduced them to the sport and encouraged them to pursue something beyond the ordinary.
