7 Things To Do While You Are Single (A Guy's Perspective)

Since I can't exactly comment on the single life in my current 'predicament' (you know, with me and my 365 Dates thing with Matt!), I have brought in outside help for advice on what to do while you are single.

Meet Franklin.

Franklin is a 20-something year old who has lived on two continents (he's from Mozambique but currently lives in the US) and is currently living the single life.
Here are a few things that Franklin believes should be on every single person's to-do list:

1. Figure out what you like to do
Beyond school, work or other obligations, do you know what hobbies truly make you happy? What do you like to do during your spare time? Try finding a new genre of film, cooking, writing or some random hobby that you've always wanted to try.

2. Explore your environment
Eat at a new restaurant, go to a new park or trail nearby, ask around for fun places to go in town, to strangers you can be a 'new kid in town'
Challenge: Go to the busiest road in your town and act as a person who just moved in and ask about fun places to go to at least 10 different people (make an effort to seek people different from your usual circle) and go do it least 2 of them.

3. Freshen up

Whether you are looking for a relationship or just enjoying being all to yourself, make sure that you are happy with the way that you present yourself to the world. Try a different haircut, change up your style a little, listen to new musical genres, etc.

4. Think positively of yourself
'Haters gonna hate' so let them hate. Know that someone out there appreciates all of your work, your beauty/handsomeness and awesomeness. Realize that a positive attitude is the beginning of many great things.

5. Exercise/work-out

Use your new found positivity to fuel yourself into better shape. This will help build a better and more accurate self-image.

6. Hangout with friends and family
Being single doesn't mean being alone and being alone doesn't mean being unhappy. Your friends and family will show you love so you always know someone somewhere loves you no matter what. Some find it in friends others in family, spirituality, religion, groups; the point is to understand that you may not see but loved one are around you and are cheering for you.

7. Spend time alone

You know that weird thing you like that your friends and family don't? Go do that. Embrace it as a part of you, unless it is against the law (or at least don't get caught doing it!).
